North Reading Hornet Hall of Fame

About Us

In 2006, the town of North Reading, Massachusetts founded the North Reading Hornet Hall of Fame as a way to recognize the achievements of local athletes, teams, coaches and community servants. The first group of inductees to the hall of fame was recognized in 2007 with subsequent inductions every two years beginning in 2008. The hall of fame is governed by the following by-laws

NORTH READING HORNET HALL OF FAME BY-LAWS

  1. The North Reading High School Hornet Hall of Fame was formed to honor North Reading High School athletes, coaches and teams.
  2. The Community Service Award may be presented to up to two individuals who have demonstrated over an extended period of time the promotion of several sports at North Reading High School.
  3. Individuals to be honored must have graduated from North Reading High School at least (5) five years prior to his or her induction into the Hall of Fame. The Community Service Award and coaches’awards are excluded from this requirement.
  4. Individuals nominated (by anyone) to the Hall of Fame must have exhibited athletic excellence while a student at North Reading High School.
  5. Individuals nominated as coaches must have exhibited leadership, expertise and integrity and have coached at North Reading High School for a minimum of (10) ten years.
  6. Support information on nominees will include photos, news articles, or a written statement from the individual(s) making the nomination.
  7. A nominee to the Hall of Fame must receive an affirmative two-thirds vote of the voting members in any year he or she is recommended.
  8. Inductees will be selected regardless of race, color, creed, gender, religion or political affiliation.
  9. Honorees will receive a suitable plaque and their names will be placed in the North Reading High School Hornet Hall of Fame showcase.
